Some words from our incumbent recipient, Sophia Lee:

...I’ve learnt so much in not only in things regarding my degree but about myself as a person and how living away from home can be daunting but rewarding as long as you set up a system for yourself and keep in contact with friends and family.

People also weren’t kidding when they said you'd meet lifelong friends in Uni too, I’ve met SO many wickedly skilled and talented creatives.

The Helen Denise Jones Arts Bursary was essentially my golden ticket, it allowed me to ease comfortably into my first year of Uni. Knowing you have financial stability moving away and settling in is a game changer. I’m endlessly grateful for Helen and the passion she had for the arts which led to wanting to provide her future recipients and creatives with a chance to hit the ground running, it’s something I’ll always remember as one of the first colourful mosaic tiles that set the foundation on my path as a musician.
